1. Get your nutrition spot on
Plan out and stick to your nutrition plan. Do this effectively by practicing in training and know what works for you
2. Train how you will race
How can you expect to race a certain way if you have never trained that way? Plan, practice and refine your racing in training, so you know exactly what you’re doing on the day
3. Know the course, especially the finish
Knowing the course in advance will allow you to conserve energy when you can, and push when you need to, especially when it comes to the end of the race. If you know the final few kms of the race well you can then plan your race out accordingly
