1. Hydrate correctly
If you are travelling via a plane, planes can be very dehydrating due to the constant air conditioning and heating, so make sure you drink enough water and use an electrolyte drink to help keep fluid within the body
2. Be aware of your nutrition
It always feels like a holiday when travelling to a race, but remember eating fast food and not sticking to the nutrition plan you have been so good at in the lead up can be detrimental to your performance. Be sensible and save the treats for afterwards
3. Sleep
It can be hard to if changing time zones, but try get as much sleep as you can, and always try to get on the new countries time zone as quickly as possible. If you are able head to a race early so you can prepare for this issue. Sleep can play a huge role in how you compete on the day
